Double Image (Brass Quintett Nr. 2)

Double Image was commissioned by the Salzburg ensemble “Juvavum Brass”. It combines traditional techniques of brass quintet writing with contemporary harmonic language and the rhythmical elements of funk and rhythm & blues. The “legit” and “commercial” aspects of this composition are treated with equal value. Listening to one aspect of the music will evoke associations of the other, and vice versa – a DOUBLE IMAGE.
