Music from an Imaginary Garden für Klavier

Zu viel Stress? Zu hektisch? Keine Zeit zum Üben? Die neue Serie «On the Lighter Side» ermöglicht dem Hobby-Klavierspieler ein musikalisches Entspannen. Einfache Feel-Good-Songs ermöglichen ein Piano-Lounge-Feeling ohne großen Übe-Aufwand. Bei den kurzen, stilistisch abwechslungsreichen Stücken (Jazz, Blues, Pop, Latin, Klassik, Balladen) steht der Wohlfühl-Faktor im Vordergrund.   Jeder der Autoren bietet einen völlig anderen Zugang zum Thema «Feel-Good» am Klavier oder am Keyboard. Die Stücke wurden zudem alle live eingespielt und stehen als mp3-Files gratis zum Anhören zur Verfügung. Monika Stadlers Musik verbindet in ihrer persönlichen musikalischen Handschrift Elemente des Jazz, der Klassik, World-, Folk- und Improvisationsmusik miteinander.

Originally composed for harp, these have been lovingly transcribed by Michael Publig. Some of these could be a challenge to Late Elementary players. If I’m not mistaken, we are witnessing the emergence of a new School of creative compositional activity calling itself “On the lighter Side” – could it be the makings of a 3rd Viennese School? – centred around the Viennese firm of Doblinger to which it owes its international outreach as it does to the prestige of having Michael Publig associated with it. A whole string of such publications has come our way, giving exciting promise of a creative fusion between pop and classical (…) This is a whole new tone-world in the making, to which no miserly review can do the justice it deserves!
